Singing Ringing Lord

Lord of the Rings - The Musical planned for 2006.

You've seen the films, worn the T-shirt and probably not read the books - now it's time to experience Middle Earth in musical form.

Plans for a multi-million pound extravaganza, written by Bombay Dreams scribe A.R. Rahman, were announced by producer Kevin Wallace. The production will return to the original books for inspiration, rather than drawing directly from Peter Jackson's blockbuster trilogy.

The musical will premiere in Toronto in March 2006, then move to London six months later. I'm looking forward to the Scouring of the Shire chorus line already.
