Helen Mirren to return one more time as DCI Jane Tennison.
According to The People, Helen Mirren will collect a fee of £500,000 to appear in a new Prime Suspect story - but it will be her last.
A source told the newspaper, "Helen has agreed to do another, which we are all delighted about. A cliffhanger ending is the most likely."
Mirren is leaving the role to pursue other work.
"I didn't want to be knocked over by a car and have my obituary just talk about Prime Suspect," Mirren said.
The Prime Suspect episodes will be broadcast next year.
