The piliot episode was 45 minutes long and broadcasted on 1st January 1980. The show ran for eight series until 1988. The main characters at the Crimpton-on-Sea holiday camp were Chief Yellowcoat Gladys Pugh, Entertainments Manager Jeffrey Fairbrother, Camp Host Ted Bovis and the Camp Comic Spike Dixon.
