RealMedia: Memories of the Stones

Rolling Stones

When the 'Stones became popular, parents were all of a sudden happy with the 'niceness' of The Beatles and warned impressionable children away from a gyrating Mick Jagger and co.

Although marketed as rivals for the Beatles, the Stones ironically had their first top 20 hit with a Lennon and McCartney song 'I Wanna Be Your Man'.

They lived up to their hard boy persona when they were arrested for urinating at a petrol station and later for drug related offences.

In 1965 the Stone's stormed the UK charts with three UK number ones - 'The Last Time', 'Get Off My Cloud' and of course the one and only 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction'.
