Barbarella

Barbarella

A cult classic, notable for Fonda's anti-gravity striptease during the opening credits. Barbarella was based on a French comic book (what else?).

Jane Fonda plays the futurist hero in search of lost scientist Duran Duran (from which the '80s band took their name).

Set in the 40th century, Fonda's character experiences many bizarre and futuristic encounters of the sexual kind - camp and now very politically incorrect.

Not one for the record books as far as depth and meaning are concerned, but fans of the genre love it.
