Blind Date soon became a ritual that every single "single" would
indulge in before going out on Saturday night.
The cheesy rehearsed chat-up lines would be repeated - with irony,
of course - in pubs and clubs across the country.
And, by the end of the decade, there was hardly anyone who didn't
claim to have snogged someone who'd been on the show.
