The Exorcist

The Exorcist

The most talked-about horror movie of all time, remembered for the blood-curdling demonic moanings of 14 year old possessed Regan (played by Linda Blair).

Possessed by a demon, Regan eventually gets completely out of hand and her mother calls in the local priest who soon realises its too big a job for him to handle and calls in another priest who specialises in exorcism (Max von Sydow). But its no run-of-the-mill demon and both the priest and Regan suffer countless horrors during their struggle.

Driven by a sinister, repetitive theme tune, the film contributed to the unlikely success of Mike Oldfields "Tubular Bells", the first album ever released by Virgin Records and its boss, Richard Branson.
