The pocket pointers that started out life in power point presentations soon fell into the hands of school children and cat lovers! The thin red beam created a chasing game for pets, spectacular light shows in classrooms and an annoyance in cinemas nation-wide.
Stories arose of policemen mistaking the beams for high-tech weapons and roller coaster operators being temporarily blinded. Their life as toys was short lived. Following eye doctor health warnings, they were banned from anywhere that wasn't a conference room.
