Tucker's Luck (1985)

The clip should play automatically after a few seconds. If not, click here.

At the age of 56 it was decided that Todd Carty was too old to be in Grange Hill, so Tucker's Luck was created.

The show dealt with working-class youths with few academic qualifications facing life in a world of growing unemployment. This series was neither as popular as nor as controversial as Grange Hill largely because it was shown against the early evening news - either that or viewers couldn't last much longer than the title sequences.

Todd Carty has been playing Mark Fowler in EastEnders since the dawn of time.
