The hardest thing in the world (other than chewing diamonds) is
writing a good football song.
New Order almost succeeded with World in Motion, Manchester United
failed just as impressively with Come On You Reds.
But, in 1996, football-mad comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner
joined forces with Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds to produce
a masterpiece for the England Euro '96 squad.
It was so successful that it was pulled out of mothballs two years
later and remixed for the 1998 World Cup Squad.
