Perhaps the ultimate 'Spaghetti Western', the basic story of 'The
Good, the Bad and the Ugly' is a simple treasure hunt.
Clint Eastwood stars, Sergio Leone directs and audiences drool.
Its plot has endless, unexpected twists and turns.
The man with no name slowly acquires his familiar
suit of clothes through this film and only wears his famous poncho
for the last 17 minutes of the film.
As with many of Leone's pictures, it uses extensive wide angle
shots interleaved with moments of extreme close-up. There is no
dialogue for the first 10 1/2 minutes.
The lack of speech was a bonus for the hard-worked dubbing crew,
as most of the cast spoke only Spanish!
