Who'd have thought a school choir would ever get to number one
in the UK charts? Especially with a song about Grandma...
St Winifred's School Choir achieved it and spent two whole weeks
in the number one slot at Christmas time in 1980 with their song
'There's No One Quite Like Grandma'.
They were dressed in lovely pink school uniforms (luckily the
boys didn't have to wear pink!) for their appearance on Top Of The
Pops. Their song could easily be included in a top ten of 'Most irritating songs to hit the number one slot'.
